Open School NorthWest - You are my other Me.

Open School is a student focused alternative school. Wheelhouse, in partnership with the IPRC, was happy to support their mission and celebrate the Grand Opening of their newest location - Open School East. . "You are my other Me." is an excerpt from a poem written by Luis Valdez. During this event demonstration we were able to share the craft of letterpress, while giving each attendee a free take home poster (printed by them!).

Caitlin Harris is a letterpress printer, designer, and educator. As the Studio Manager at the Independent Publishing Resource Center she strives to make letterpress printing accessible to all members of our community. She teaches letterpress classes at the IPRC and the Oregon College of Art & Craft, and provides frequent printing demonstrations for the public. Caitlin is the proprietor of Wheelhouse Press, a letterpress studio tucked into Forest Park. Her work is focused on printing hand-set type in expressive and innovative ways. Caitlin believes in hard work, community, and collaboration.
